TOYOTA EXTENDS PARTNERSHIP WITH NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS

** New three-year agreement **
** Extends partnership to at least 18 years **
** Shared focus on promoting grassroots football **

Toyota Australia and its North Queensland dealers have extended their partnership with the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys rugby league team to at least 18 years.

The latest agreement - which takes the partnership to the end of the 2020 season - makes the long-running sponsorship one of the most enduring in the National Rugby League, having first been established in 2003.

Toyota's senior divisional manager sales and marketing Sean Hanley said Toyota is proud to be associated with a team that is so highly regarded and respected across Australia and particularly in its local region.

Mr Hanley said the partnership extends beyond the game's elite level with both the company and the club having a strong focus on supporting the game at the grassroots level.

"Initiatives such as the Toyota Good for League Raffle are important because they help to provide much-needed equipment and resources for the local community clubs that are the lifeblood of this sport," he said.

"Toyota already has a fantastic relationship with the Cowboys Community Foundation - the club's fundraising arm - and this renewed partnership will only strengthen that connection.

"Together with our North Queensland dealers, we look forward to delivering many more great community programs working in conjunction with the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys."

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys chief executive Greg Tonner said the longevity of Toyota's principal sponsorship was a clear sign that each partner deeply values the ethos, values and community focus of the other.

"Each organisation is enormously proud of the partnership, and that's because it's a perfect fit in such a connected, committed and passionate community," Mr Tonner said.

"NQ is the Cowboys and the Cowboys are NQ. Toyota Australia and the North Queensland Toyota dealers help us continue to run the club at a high level and to effectively reach more people with our engagement programs."

The North Queensland Toyota dealer group is comprised of 10 dealerships operating 13 outlets in Townsville, Cairns, Atherton, Innisfail, Mareeba, Tully, Ingham, Mount Isa, Charters Towers, Ayr, Bowen, Proserpine and Mackay.

Toyota's announcement of the extended sponsorship agreement comes just a few days after the Toyota 86 Racing Series made its first visit to Townsville, the home of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys.
