UPGRADED ECHO HATCH IS BETTER VALUE
Toyota has rolled back the prices and significantly upgraded specifications on its five-model Echo hatchback range.
Recommended retail prices have been rolled back by up to $2600.
Added features, including power steering and air conditioning as standard equipment, have increased the value of some models by nearly $5000.
The Echo price rollback also includes the four-door sedan models - which received a facelift and specification upgrade late last year.
Echo three-door hatch (with air conditioning and power steering) now has a recommended retail price of $14,490.*
The new three-door and five-door Echo hatch models have improved active and passive safety, comfort, features and appearance.
The new 1.3-litre Echo hatch has revised spring and damper rates, for improved handling and ride comfort.
Echo hatch’s impact-absorbing body structure has been reinforced at the front pillar, rocker panel and floor, and previously existing reinforcement panels have been made thicker.
A tibia pad has been adopted at the front floor to help to minimise lower leg injuries in the event of a collision.
A rear centre-seat lap-sash seatbelt has been adopted, for increased passive safety.
Driver comfort has been optimised by specifying power steering as standard equipment.
Inside, Echo hatch has improved ventilation and a new audio with CD player and four speakers as standard equipment in all models.
All Echo hatchbacks now have power steering, CD player, height-adjustable driver’s seat, 60/40 split-fold rear seat and keyless power door locks.
Toyota’s Echo Sportivo has also received a significant specification and feature upgrade - for no additional price.
The recommended retail price has been held at $19,990* for the three-door manual Sportivo, while offering additional specification including air conditioning as standard equipment.
The specification upgrade represents $1,460 in additional value.
Toyota has revised Echo Sportivo’s spring and damper rates, for improved handling and ride comfort.
Sportivo’s new exterior features include new headlamps and a new body-coloured front bumper with two-tone gunmetal painted moulding - for a more sporty appearance.
The new headlamps have larger reflectors - for improved high and low-beam light penetration. Echo Sportivo has a new radiator grille, lower grille and bumper-hole grille, with lozenge-shaped mesh.
